The 2025 Formula 1 season is set to begin with the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit from March 14-16. This season features significant driver changes, with Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari and a host of talented rookies entering the grid.

FERRARI
As a Ferrari fan I can confirm that Hamilton’s move to Ferrari is one of the most talked-about changes for 2025.
His goal is clear to put an 8th World Championship under his belt and also end Ferrari’s title drought since 2008. This would be a fantastic final crown jewel to add to his list of titles.
Pre-season testing indicates that Hamilton is satisfied with Ferrari’s performance, fueling optimism. We will see come Melbourne who has been sandbagging in testing!
MCLAREN
Now on to the next big topic! McLaren!
They have shown impressive form during winter testing, positioning Lando Norris as a top championship contender and this is reflected with his top price in the fantasy F1 league.
Teammate Oscar Piastri is aiming for a home win in Australia which adds to McLaren’s competitive edge at the start of the season.
MAX
Max Verstappen’s pursuit of a 5th F1 title begins here! As reigning champion Max may be an unknown as limited winter testing has left some uncertainty about Red Bull’s performance, especially with new teammate Liam Lawson replacing Sergio Perez.
Predictions for the Season
Drivers’ Championship: Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton – If i had to pick one i would still go for Max due to his consistancy!
Constructors’ Championship: McLaren is my pick to win the Constructors’ Championship. Ferrari have a strong lineup too this year so if the car has legs they are in with a shot also!
Rookie Performances: The 2025 season introduces team six rookies, including Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), Oliver Bearman (Haas), Jack Doohan (Alpine), Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber), Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls), and Liam Lawson (Red Bull).
Their performances are highly anticipated, with expectations of drivers like Bearman and Doohan expected to be strong!
Australian Grand Prix Outlook: The Australian Grand Prix is expected to be a thrilling opener as usual.
McLaren’s strong winter testing positions them as potential frontrunners, but Ferrari’s performance with Hamilton could surprise many. Variable weather conditions may add unpredictability, making the race even more exciting.
My pick for this one is Ferrari as their straight line speed and race pace have always generally suited for the circuit. I wouldn’t rule Mclaren out but this all depends on whether they have a stand out package.
